I Am Anything

There’s still no question which of the great cats Caleb would be if he were a great cat.  I don’t remember if he chose the persona for himself, when we were kids, or if we found it for him.  Either way, I’m sure we didn’t argue about it.  Caleb’s speed and dexterity is unmatched between us today, just as it was when we were younger.  He became our CHEETAH.
Joshua is and was a man of the pride, for all his solidarity, a LION watching, contemplating, confident (or brave enough for airs), fierce and very protective.
I don’t know the first thing about tigers, never did.  They ranked somewhere between lions and cheetahs probably, and I liked them.  When I chose the TIGER, I felt like such a conspicuous fake.  Would Joshua and Caleb smell the salty prayers on my palms?  God, have they read The Jungle Book?  Do they know that I’m no more a tiger than I am a chimpanzee?  I don’t know what I am.
I suppose, I am anything so long as it supports the identity of the group.
